

Jerome Starpoli, June 1, 1915-June 12, 2012, died peacefully in Nashville, TN, his residence for 7 years. He grew up in the city of Poughkeepsie where he married his wife Regina and raised two sons, Jerome Jr, and Robert. Mr. Starpoli was a veteran of our country who proudly served in WWII. He loved talking of his days driving the milk truck, owning the fruit stand on Main street in Poughkeepsie, Star Beverages, working with his brother at Pepsi Co. He also worked at the service station in Poughkeepsie. Loved his dog Choo-Choo! Moe had a great love for camping in his RV and spent many summers in Narragansett, RI. He taught his family how to "clam" and made pots full of steamed clams over the years! He enjoyed the sun, ocean, and sharing stories and jokes! He was very creative and made nailhead crafts among other designs over the years.
He loved singing old songs to the grandkids who he called his "honeydews". When he shook your hand he loved to tell you to "Shake the hand that shook the hand of Callahan!" His wife Regina passed away in 1979, and although the loss was great, he spent his latter years close with friends and family. Jerry moved to Nashville to live with his son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Anne, until his death. His son, Robert, passed away in 2007. Jerome is survived by his son, Jerome Jr. of Highland, NY, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered for his kindness, generosity, craftsmanship and love for his friends and family. Memorial services will be held on July 18, 2012 at 1pm in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, NY.
