Jesse Wayne Brooks age 82 passed away Thursday May 5, 2011. Born Saturday December 29, 1928 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late J. R. and Frances Park Brooks. He served in the US Air Force with the rank of T/Sgt. He also served 45 years in law enforcement, he is author of three books on civil law; was chief of police of Berry Hill; a State Trooper in New Mexico; taught at the Law Enforcement Academy; and served as a Vanderbilt Police Officer and trainer.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Wanda Evelyn Brooks; daughter Donna Faye (Farley) Light; his sons Ray Tomlinson, Keith (Kim) Tomlinson; his brothers Charles and Joel Brooks; his grandchildren Amber, Shonda, Billy, Mandy and Nathan.
Funeral services will be 9:30 Monday morning in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Ernest Standerfer officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
