John Franklin Easley, III, age 91, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John Franklin Easley, Jr. and Nell Easley. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Martha Easley (Wright), his son Todd Easley, and his daughter Diana Easley.
Born on February 28, 1934, in Nashville, Franklin—affectionately known as Frank to his close friends—was a proud graduate of East Nashville High School. Following graduation, he began a successful career in sales with General Electric, specializing in electrical equipment and lighting. Later, he continued his expertise in lighting with GTE Sylvania, where he was highly respected for his knowledge and professionalism.
In his youth, Franklin was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. His faith was central to his life; he committed himself to Christ early on and raised his family at Chapel Avenue Church of Christ, where he served faithfully as treasurer for many years. Franklin led by example, honoring his parents and guiding his family with humility and steadfast love. He preferred to serve quietly, always putting others before himself.
He enjoyed walking three miles each morning with friends at the YMCA and had a lifelong fascination with trains, fire trucks, and World War II history. Known affectionately by his family as the “Dog Nurse,” Frank cared for many dogs throughout his life and passed that love of dogs to his daughter.
He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his gentle leadership, and his kind nature.
“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:21
Heartfelt thanks to the staff at NHC Place at the Trace and Touching Hearts at Home for their care and compassion.
