

EWING, JR., John "Johnny"- Retiree, Federal Reserve Bank of Nashville. He was born in Columbia, TN on the 29th of May 1916 to the late John W. Ewing, Sr. and Mary Priest Ewing, and passed away on the 15th of April 2013 at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN at the age of 96. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Johnnie Mae Hunter; son, Wendell E. Ewing; great grandson, Alfred Caruthers; sister, Maude Cooper; and brother, Albert Ewing. He is survived by Devoted Wife of 64 years, Ernestine Horton Ewing; sons, Jerome, Gary, and Terence Ewing; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, including the George Washington Carver Community Garden and the Woodmont Baptist Church telephone friends. Viewing will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Friday morning beginning at nine o'clock until Friday evening when the family will be present to gather with friends from five o'clock until seven o'clock. A Celebration of Life service will be held the morning of Saturday, the 20th of April 2013 at eleven o'clock at Faith United Missionary Baptist Church, 600 Revels Cr., Nashville, TN 37207 (615)-876-9593 with visitation beginning one hour prior. Officiated by Rev. Roosevelt Walker, Sr. Interment to follow with escorted procession to Woodlawn Memorial Park.
