John was a 40-year employee of the Nashville Criminal Court Clerks office and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
John is preceded in death by his parents Captain Stephen F. Hupka, Sr. and Jean Huffine Hupka, and sister Pat Hupka.
Survived by his brother, Steve (Spike) Hupka and wife Jody; niece and nephew Melissa Goodwin, Jim Hupka and wife Cathy; great niece and nephew, Kara Reed and husband Jonathan, and Hayden Hupka along with great-great niece and nephews Allie, Tucker and Parker Reed.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home, 201 25th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37203. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Christ of King, 3001 Belmont Blvd, Nashville, TN 37212. Following will be entombment at Calvary Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
