

JUANITA KATHERINE “Kitty” WRIGHT PARKER, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 15, 2010. She was born in Jackson, Michigan on October 5, 1925 to the late George Jordan Wright and Juanita Elnora Wright. As a child, she with her family, moved to White House, Tennessee, and later to Nashville where she graduated from North High School in 1944. Before getting married and starting a family, she pursued a career in nursing. Kitty is survived by her four sons, R. Michael Parker (Trudy), D. Steven Parker, C. David Parker (Shelia) and K. Leland Parker (Sherrie); her seven grandchildren, Sarah Parker Scaffidi (Jake), B.J. Parker (Marla), Patrick Parker (Kristen), Jennifer Parker Graul (Chuck), Robert Parker (Mandi), and Katherine and Frederick Parker; and her seven great-grandchildren, Allyson, Eryn and Dawson Parker, Matt and Will Scaffidi, and Avery and Weston Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Thomas Wright and Keith Boone Wright. Over the years, Kitty was involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Daughters of the Confederacy, the Oak Hill Garden Club, the Nashville Home Builders Auxiliary, and the Oak Hill Home Demonstration Club, holding various offices within each organization. Her interests included genealogy research, sewing, gardening, crafts, bridge and bingo. A celebration of her life will be held at Brentwood Baptist Church with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on March 26, 2010. Kitty will be cremated and a private memorial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
