November 19, 1953 – July 18, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Parolini, who left us on July 18, 2025. Kathy was the epitome of compassion and selflessness, always seeking to help others. She was beautiful, she was kind, and she always left the room better than she found it. It was no surprise that Kathy dedicated her career to non-profit foundation work, making a significant impact through organizations including the Rochelle Center, Centerstone, American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, and Greenways for Nashville. Her passion for service extended to her beloved faith community at Woodmont Christian Church, where she was an active member, Stephen Minister, and Deacon.
Kathy had a remarkable gift of connecting with people, building a far-reaching community of friends who became like family. She loved the outdoors—walking the greenways, hiking at Radnor Lake, and exploring Tennessee’s waterfalls. Kathy also cherished frequent trips to New York City, where she reveled in the museums, opera, and ballet. Her greatest joy, however, was found in simple moments with her family—dinner nights with her daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law, and cheering on football games with friends.
Over twenty years ago, Kathy was diagnosed with a rare and particularly parlous auto-immune disease. Despite constant pain, intensive treatments, and dozens of hospital visits, Kathy never let her illness keep her from serving others or living a full and joyful life. She radiated love and happiness with a smile that lit up any room.
Her legacy will live on in her doting family, the countless lives she touched, the friends who became family, and the community she helped nurture and grow. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Bette Parolini Stumb; son-in-law, Tee Stumb; granddaughter, Poppy Stumb; brothers, Rick Parolini, Greg Parolini, and Jim Parolini; and sister, Mary Kay Ebeling.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, 2:00–3:00 PM at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville.
Kathy will be deeply missed and forever loved. In leu of flowers, please donate to Greenways For Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathleen's memory may be made to Greenways for Nashville, greenwaysfornashville.org.
