Kathryn L. Watkins, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018. She was born January 1, 1945 to Grayce and Jack Linder and grew up in Mayfield, Kentucky. She attended the University of Kentucky where she was in the Delta, Delta, Delta sorority. After graduation she became a teacher working with special needs children. A natural artist, later in life she spent her time painting, knitting and weaving. She was kind to everyone and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Watkins, her three daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Nick Gold of Nashville, Mary Scott and David Senan of Seattle and Virginia and Jonathan Becker of Piedmont, CA; and six grandchildren, Wilson, Carter, Suzi, William, Letty and Elliott.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 beginning at twelve thirty, followed by a memorial service at two o’clock at First Presbyterian Church on Franklin Road.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made either to Alive Hospice of Middle Tennessee, or to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center for lung cancer research.
