Laura D. Jones Nashville, TN Laura D. Jones peacefully left this world on September 12, 2015 with her family at her side. She was born in Nashville, TN on November 6, 1913 to Ilene and David Deathridge. Laura was predeceased by her husband Ellis B. Jones; her sister Betty Holt; and brothers David and Walter Deathridge. She is survived by her son E. Baird Jones and daughter-in-law Pat Bell of New Kent, VA; grandson Beau Jones and his wife Cara of Raleigh NC; granddaughter Elizabeth Young and her husband David of Weston, MA; great-granddaughters Ellis, Becket and Reace Jones and Madeline Young, sister-in-law Betty Deathridge; and nieces and nephews. Laura was a native of Nashville. She was educated in public schools in the area and was a graduate of Hume-Fogg High School. She was employed by Bell Telephone until her marriage to Ellis in 1938. She was a charter member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church and was an active member of the church until 2007 when she moved to Williamsburg, VA to be closer to her son. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held on October 7, 2015 at Belle Meade Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Road, Nashville. The family asks that you join them at ten o’clock in the morning to celebrate Laura’s life followed by a service at eleven o’clock. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
