She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma Earhart Jenkins Alley and John Willard Alley, and her brother Horatio Jenkins, Jr. She was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was the mother of 3 children, Lisa Collier (Billy), Lori Weir (Chris), and Michael Mercer (Andrea), and had 3 grandchildren, Brent Collier, Courtney Collier, and Ryan Mercer. She was a faithful follower of John Hagee ministries. Linda was a unique person. On weekends, she couldn’t pass a garage sale…then take her treasures to consignment. She loved her crossword puzzles and games, and as of late, was known as the Yahtzee Queen (4 Yahtzees in 1 game!!!).
What a sense of humor she had. She was the subject of many of her kids pranks from the cell phone story to the unique snow figure in her front yard. Every time one of her children would visit, they’d leave with an SOS bag….you’ll have to ask what that stands for. She also spent many hours on neighborhood watch. She loved her family and neighbors very much.
A gathering of family and friends for Linda will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37210, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM with Dwayne Goodgine officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mountolivet.com for the Mercer family.
