Lois Virginia Hawk Moseley, age 89, beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away July 7, 2015 in Nashville surrounded in love by all four of her children, their spouses and five of her nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, longtime Chattanooga attorney and judge, Raymond Moseley. Lois was a fun-loving, caring and committed Christian who loved adventure. She traveled to 47 of the 50 US states and journeyed many times to Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. She flew on the Concorde with her beloved husband and sailed on the QEII. Married in wartime at 19 and a mother at 20, she returned to college at 47 and graduated from UT Chattanooga with Honors. Lois had an easy laugh and a giving heart. Her hobby was people. She was also known for her garden, her volunteering (everything from Cub Scout Den Mother to the Church Choir) and her legendary broccoli casserole recipe. At age 88 she moved to The Heritage at Brentwood, a senior community, because she wanted to make new friends. That says it all. She is proudly survived by four children: sons Rick Moseley and his wife Emily of Columbia, TN; Stephen Moseley and his wife Brenda of Louisville, TN; Bob Moseley of Albuquerque, NM and daughter Diane Crabtree and her husband David of Franklin, TN. Her nine beloved grandchildren are Jennifer Moseley of Atlanta; Greta Moseley of Columbia; Lyndsay Moseley Alexander of Washington, DC; Brad Moseley of Knoxville; Matt Moseley of Nashville; David Moseley of Knoxville and Michael, David and Stephen Crabtree of Franklin; as well as great grandsons Royal Phylo (Knoxville) and Teddy Baker (Atlanta). Lois will be remembered in a Memorial service at her church, Bethlehem United Methodist in Franklin, at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 23rd with family visitation starting at noon. Chattanooga visitation will take place the following day (July 24th) from 1:00-2:30 pm, at The Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, 404 S Moore Rd East Ridge, TN with a 3:00 pm burial to follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family asks that you plant something beautiful in her memory, or make a contribution to Alive Hospice of Nashville, which took such loving care of Lois and her family.
