Lola Lavergne McElhiney – Age 95, passed away September 29, 2014. Mrs. McElhiney was preceded in death by her husband, James A. MCElhiney. She is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann Irwin (Van T., Jr.), Janice Yancy (Don); grandchildren, Vicki McArthur (Tom), Steve Irwin (Christy), Don “Chip” Yancy, III (Serena); sister, Viola Ricks (Willis) and 5 great-grandchildren. Mrs. McElhiney is also survived by special caregivers, Shirley Turner, Melody Elrod, Tiffany Mathis, and Pat Harper. Mrs. McElhiney was the previous owner of Brookmeade Beauty Salon. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home with Dr. Van Modling officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Frank Burns, Steve Irwin, Hoyt Carter, Russell Johnson, Chip Yancy, Tommy McArthur, Rob McArthur, Adam Warren. Visitation will be held 11am – 1pm prior to the service on Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Nolensville First Baptist Church or AseraCare Hospice.
