Lola Newman, age 87, of Nashville passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2018 at Alive Hospice. She was born March 12, 1931 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of the late Homer and Lola Daniel. Preceded in death by her parents as well as her loving husband of 64 years James Paul Newman (2015). She is survived by her four children: James P. Newman Jr. (Jessica), Daniel E. Newman (Marcia), Thomas E. Newman (Patty) and Cynthia N. Jenkins (Doug); eight grandchildren: Sarah Schmidt (Ben), Jeff Newman (Rebecca), Austin Newman, James Newman III (Lauren), Jennifer Shelton (Thomas), Allison Lagrone (Aaron), Natalie Johnson (Ryan) and Nicole Bridwell (Josh); and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Newman was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Ward Belmont College. She was a member and past president of the Belmont Mansion Association, a docent at the Governor’s, Belle Meade & Belmont Mansions, a Nashville city tour guide and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her husband Jim as well as family and friends. Lola and Jim thought of Hilton Head Island, SC as their second home and spent many winters there. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
