Louise "Weezie" Hodges Sherwood, age 79 of Nashville, passed away September 18, 2014. She was born on April 26, 1935, in Boston, MA to the late Ransom Fuller and Hester Codman Hodges.
She is also preceded in death by her brother, Julian Codman Hodges (Carole).
She was raised in Cedarhurst, Long Island, NY.
Mrs. Sherwood is survived by her husband, Henry "Hank" M. Sherwood Jr.; daughter, Suze S. Ward; son, James C. Ward, III (Corinne); stepson, Bradley R. Sherwood (Seana); grandchildren, Katherine C. Ward and James C. Ward.
She attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, CT, and Briarcliffe College, Long Island, NY. In her teens, she enjoyed trips and traveling throughout Europe. She was past president of the Nashville Humane Association and volunteered at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Mrs. Sherwood enjoyed her antique business, "Scavenger's," for 25 wonderful successful years.
A private Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in the Stanford Chapel. Public visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. in the Cheek House of First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nashville Humane Association or Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
