Sher is preceded in death her loving husband of 62 years John H Brandon Sr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude B. Halterman, brother Willis C. Halterman, Betty Gaydos all of Buffalo, New York and beloved youngest son, Timothy W. Brandon.
Survived by children John H. Brandon Jr. (Pam) of Colleyville, TX. Jeffrey C. Brandon of Nashville, Tn., Amy B. Cantrell (Gary) of Murfreesboro, Tn., Sherry B. Stiglic (Glenn) of Long Beach, CA., and sister Mrs. Betty Gaydos of Buffalo, NY. She was also surrounded with love from 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Born in Grinnell, Iowa April 14, 1925. Her early years were spent in Rochester, NY. Where she was educated in the public schools. Later she turned to the University of Tennessee to elevate her achievements in accounting.
Her past employments were with southern Bell Telephone Co, American Airlines and American Home Patient Center for the last ten years of employment.
A strong desire to end the bloodshed during the World War II inspired her to enter the Army Air Corp spending two years Mitchell Field, Bradley Field and Fort Dix where she met and married Cpt. John Brandon in 1945.
She was an avid sports enthusiast, gardener and animal lover. She was never without the many loved and loving dogs and the memory of them all. In this regard please donate to any animal welfare agency or the TN State Veterans Homes in lieu of Flowers.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2-5pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with a private service later.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Tennessee State Veteran’s Home Murfreesboro and a special thanks to Jackie Musasa for her devoted care to our mother.
