

LaVoi, Madoline F., Age 92, passed away November 28, 2012. She is survived by daughters Elaine Ganick, Marcia Myatt, and Dr. Debra LaVoi, son Kent LaVoi, grandchildren Kelley C’deBaca, Erin Perry, Kristen Jeter, Will Bowles, Samantha LaVoi, Christopher C’deBaca, Cullen LaVoi, and great grandson Brayden Perry; sister Thelma Prentice, sisters in law Marie Farmer and Lauretta Machi (Nello). She was preceded in death in 2011 by her devoted husband of 66 years, Dr. Samuel J. LaVoi. Madoline was raised on a farm in Nashville and earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, as well as medical certification as a Laboratory Technician. Madoline served as Medical Practice Director for her husband’s internal medicine practice until his retirement in 1989. Active as a community volunteer in many non-profit organizations, Madoline was elected President of Bethlehem Centers in 1977 and was named Southeast Area Volunteer of the Year by Goodwill Industries in 1979. She was an active member of the American Business Women’s Association (Parthenon Chapter) and served as President in 1985. She was named Woman of the Year by the ABWA in 1988 and Boss of the Year in 1990. Madoline was also very active in the Rebekah Ruth Women’s Circle at Calvary United Methodist Church. Known as “Nana” to all who loved her, Madoline’s kind and loving spirit built a legacy for her children and grandchildren that will be cherished forever. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30 from 5 pm to 7 pm, and 10:30am to 11:30am on Saturday, December 1 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Funeral services follow in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with entombment to follow in the Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum.
