Marcella Faye Speer

Faye was raised in Kentucky, the daughter of a Nazarene pastor. She attended Trevecca College in Nashville where she met the love of her life, Brock Speer. She joined him in the Speer Family when they married in 1948. She left to raise three children who survive her, Suzan, Marc and Brian. She rejoined the group in the 60s and again the 80s. After Brock became too ill to travel, she stayed at home with him until his passing. Afterwards. she then filled her time with things like volunteering at Vanderbilt Hospital holding and loving the critically ill newborn babies. She was diagnosed with ALS in 2013 and finally received her promotion to join her husband, sister and parents in glory on October 13, 2015.

Visitation on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204. Visitation on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and memorial service at 2:00 PM at First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trevecca Nazarene University’s Speer Family Music Scholarship.
