Born in Plainfield, New Jersey. Moved to Nashville, Tennessee with her two sisters, Betty and Martha and despite developing blindness and Parkinson’s, led a rich life centered around, music, family, and faith. Margaret taught us that being blind doesn’t mean you can’t see the right path to take.
After graduating from Peabody College, she taught music at Tennessee School for the Blind for 32 years.
Margaret fittingly lived one year for every key on the piano.
Later in life, she enjoyed travelling with her sister Betty and living together again in their parents’ home in Green Hills.
Margaret taught us the meaning of strength and endurance through hardship.
Margaret is survived by her nephew’s wife, Sandy Mesner and great nephew, David and his family.
A memorial service to honor Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Glen Leven Presbyterian Church at 11:00am, 3906 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37204. Visitation will begin at 10:00am prior to the service. The burial will be held privately at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
