Margo Layne Porter

Born on November 22, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, Margo lived a life rooted in deep faith, love for her family, and a profound appreciation for the simple joys of country living. Her journey from the heart of Tennessee to the warmth of Florida was marked by devotion to her loved ones, her beliefs, and the values she held dear.

Margo is survived by her devoted husband, Charles C. Porter of Fort Myers, Florida. Together they built a life filled with shared memories and enduring love. She leaves behind two sons: Charles (Danette) and William, who carry forward her legacy with strength and pride. Margo was also a cherished grandmother to six granddaughters and a beloved great-grandmother to twenty great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives who were touched by her warmth and spirit.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda, whose memory remained close to Margo’s heart throughout her life.

Margo's passions reflected the richness of her character. She had a deep love for God and country, values that guided her daily life. A true enthusiast of western films and police dramas, she found joy in stories of courage and justice. Her affection for animals, especially horses and farm animals was well known among those who knew her best.

Her home was always open to family gatherings filled with laughter, storytelling, and heartfelt connection. Whether surrounded by grandchildren or enjoying quiet moments watching her favorite shows, Margo brought comfort and joy to those around her.

She will be remembered not only for the love she gave so freely but also for the strength she showed throughout her life. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Gathering of friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM September 6, 2025 followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn- Roesch Patton Funeral Home 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville Tennessee 37204.
