Marion Thurman

Marion Thurman of Nashville Tennessee died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday December 19, 2020 a few days after his 88th birthday. Born in Trousdale County - Hartsville, Tennessee and raised by his grandmother, Marion married Eva Massey and relocated to Nashville Tennessee in 1951.

After serving his country in the Korean War Conflict and attending The University of Tennessee. He began a lifelong career in residential Real Estate and Construction business. He was considered a leader in the residential home building industry. Marion developed and built new home subdivisions, upscale apartment communities, condominium developments, retail shopping centers and office parks throughout Middle and West Tennessee. He was a proud supporter and board member of “The Nashville Rescue Mission” and “the Boys Club of America” - Nashville Chapter. He also served on the board of “The Nashville Home Builders Association”.He was vice chairman of the VFW post 88.

Survived by many devoted family members that included, Danny Cole (wife Molly) of Jackson Tn, daughter,Jan Tolley (husband Wendell) of Jackson Tn, four grand children, eight great grand children, son Jerry of Atlanta Ga and supportive nephew Kevin Harvey of Dallas Tx.

Due to covid 19 a memorial service will be held at a later published date. A private graveside service will be held for family members.
