Born July 18, 1924, she was pre-deceased by parents Evan Tazwell Lester and Birdie Primrose Lester, Sister Velma Jean Lester, half-brother Fred Arthur Lester and half-sister Annie Lester Galbaugh, husband Hugh McClain Richardson Jr. and daughter Nancy Lester Richardson Summers. Survived by son Hugh (Bo) McClain Richardson III (Penny), grandchildren Richard Summers (Amy), New York City, Neal Edward Richardson, and Emily McClain Richardson of Nashville.
A native Nashvillian, she grew up on Acklen Avenue and was a 1942 graduate of West End High School. She attended Peabody College and married in 1949. Her children were born while living on Signal Mountain and the family returned to Nashville in 1963. She was a charter member of St. David’s Episcopal Church . Marge moved to Charlotte NC in the late 1980’s to be with daughter Nancy and her husband David Summers. She had many fond memories of her time and acquaintances in Charlotte. After returning to Nashville in 2002 she continued her passion of shopping estate and garage sales.. Her friends multiplied due to her magnetic personality. She spent her final years at Morningside of Belmont with additional help from
Jodie Beneke and Adoration Hospice. The family is grateful for all the care she received.
Visitation will be at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home on Thursday November 15th from 4 until 7 pm. Graveside service will be Friday November 16th at 11 am.
