

A devoted family member, friend, professional and volunteer, Marty exemplified leadership and compassion by example. An expert in communications/management coaching, Marty taught 17 years at the School of Engineering and the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University before founding her own national communications consultancy. Marty won international awards for training, program development, publications, and contributions to the profession of business and technical communication. She served as national president of the Association of Professional Communication Consultants as well as president of CABLE (a Nashville professional women’s organization).
Marty earned her BA - Randolph-Macon Women’s College in 1964, MA - University of Arkansas in 1966, and PhD from Vanderbilt University in 1977.
Marty was a member of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America and Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and working as a Master Gardener.
Marty is preceded in death by her father, Collins Andrews Jr. She is survived by her mother, Martha H. Andrews; husband, Larry Logan; two sons, Drew Nord (Angela) and Richard Nord II (Loren); brother, Collins Andrews III (Jeannie); step-children, Kelly Burkinshaw and Jeremy Logan; four grandchildren Claire, Garrett, Mary Martha and Charlie; and three step grandchildren Paige, Logan and Joshua.
The family wishes to thank Marty's caregivers, Brittany Harris and Michelle Jones for their dedicated service in caring for her as she battled ALS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tennessee Chapter of the ALS Association.
