Age 93. Died on September 5, 2017. Martha was married to Dr. Lawrence G. Schull in 1950. She was a homemaker and loved to read, sew, and travel, particularly to France. Martha graduated from Ward Belmont in Nashville, TN and received her B.A. Degree from Sophie Newcomb College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Centennial Club. Preceded in death by husband, Dr. Lawrence G. Schull; parents, Thomas H. Mitchell, Sr. and Emily H. Mitchell; siblings, Thomas H. Mitchell, Jr. and Mary Brandon. Survived by children, Dr. Lawrence G. Schull, Jr. (Sudhir), Dr. Martha S. Gilliss, Emily S. Healy, Helen S. Jackson (Scott), Dr. David M. Schull (Katharine); 9 grandchildren and 3 three great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at eleven o’ clock in the morning on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Stanford Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37220 with Visitation one hour prior at the Cheek House. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
