Mary R Rainey

Funeral service in her honor will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.

She began her education at Jackson Grammar School, then spent two years at Loudon High School, then returned 5 years later to earn her High School degree. Mary came to Nashville, and attended Andrew Jackson Business School. After her schooling she worked several jobs, including Central State Hospital, a telephone operator, and a dental assistant.

Mary met her future husband, Paul Rainey on a blind date, Halloween night, Oct. 31, 1958. They were married six months later on May 4, 1959 and enjoyed 62 years together.

Mary is survived by her husband, Paul Rainey; Children, Trish Rainey (Donnie) Hammonds, Jeff (Karen) Rainey, Michael (Susan) Rainey; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tyson) Donaldson, Matthews Hammonds, Loren Rainey. Great grandchildren, Brody, Bryce, Brett Donaldson, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret, Don, Andy, Ben, Tom, and Myrtle Ritchey and one great grand daughter Blakelyn.
