Mary, age 74, passed away at Alive Hospice, in Nashville, TN on October 26, 2017, after being surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Clarence W. and Mary Koch of Little Rock, Arkansas, her first husband of 44.5 years, James H. Youree, her infant daughter, Lisa Louise Youree, and her second husband, Robert “Bob” Richard.
Mary is survived by her brother, Dr. Clarence W. Koch Jr. (Patricia), daughters, Mary Beth Youree Kramer (Chad), Melissa Youree Freeman (Chris Pollitt) and Dana Youree, her step son, David Lyman (Michele), her grandchildren, Claire Freeman, Harris Freeman, Lyla Pollitt, Dayna Kramer, Nathalie Kramer, her step grandchildren, Ben (Maggie), Alyssa, and Kurstin Lyman, and her nieces and nephews.
Mary was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and graduated from the University of Miami. Mary was a registered nurse and worked with patients, as she liked to put it, from “cradle to grave”. She was an entrepreneur and owned her own home health agency in Carmel, CA. At one point, she took a leave from nursing and opened her own very successful interior design studio.
Mary was a true adventurer. She jumped at the opportunity to live in Saudi Arabia with her first husband and children. She moved 15+ times in her adult life and never regretted one move. She loved to travel and embraced each new experience whole heartedly. She saw the world and she never took that for granted.
Mary was retired for 18 years and loved every minute of it. She made an amazing life for herself in Nashville and that has a great deal to do with her close friendships she nurtured from the start. Mary was involved in many organizations over the years. Her memberships included Coral Gables Junior League, Rotary International, West Hills Women’s Club (past President), Volunteer at St. Thomas Hospital (served on the Board for Volunteers), St. George’s Episcopal Church, Symphony League, and Centennial Club.
A visitation for Mary will be held at 11:30am and the memorial service will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, November 7th, at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 4715 Harding Road, Nashville, TN, with The Reverend Clint Wilson and The Reverend Michael Corky Carlisle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson, Nashville, TN 37203.
