

Mattie was a home maker most of her marriage, but she did. She work briefly at several clinics as a registered nurse. Dr. Lampton's office was the longest she worked after 8 years of working she went back to being a housewife.
Mattie was a faith believing woman, she was always reading and studying her Bible. Mattie was ordained as a minister on August 31st, 2013, by the late Pastor Percy J. Clark at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Mattie departed this life on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. She leaves behind four children, Reginald L. Cheatham, Jalenska M. Cheatham, Zarrin T. Cheatham and Latalia L. Cheatham; her grandchildren, Kardarylro T. Cheatham, Brielmyrocion R. Cheatham, Jatornaska P. Cheatham, Qunssante`Y. Cheatham, O'starciacia N. Cheatham, Dauhvondrio G. Cheatham, Delvondrese A. Cheatham, Raedayrian S. Cheatham, Destini Hurd, Laison A. Hurd, Nyzaen Hurd, Cirrionna Cheatham, Zarrius Cheatham, Zyariah Cheatham, Zeaven Cheatham (RIP), Ta'jauhious Cheatham, Tizarian Cheatham, Brianna Moody, Gabriel Wofford, Isahia Wofford, Quianna Wofford, Zianna Macafee, plus three unknown names. Her siblings, Mary Ann Scott (RIP), William Thomas Adams, Barbara Jean Dobson (RIP), Aletha Adams (RIP), Samuel Adams (RIP), Alforna Adams, Phillip Adams (RIP), Curtus Adams, Debra Faye Adams, James Adams, Anthony Adams and Sam Adams, Jr. A host of nieces, nephews, 9 great-grandchildren and two on the way.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on Friday, May 1, 2026, beginning at 1:30 pm.
