

Mike McConnell, age 60, our beloved husband, father, son, friend & confidant passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on the evening of Saturday, December 14th. Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy, his mother Shirley Lobrano of Mangham, LA, daughters Meghann Myers of Houston, TX, Cassie Kelley of Nashville, TN, Michaelanne Lauderdale of Seacrest, FL, Molly McConnell of Nashville, TN, sons-in-law Jesse Myers, Charles Kelley, & Matt Lauderdale, grandson Jackson Myers, and nephews Caleb McConnell of Dallas, TX, Jordy McConnell of Dallas, TX, and Mark McConnell of Starkville, MS. His father, Massey McConnell, and brother, Brian McConnell, preceded him in death. Mike dedicated his life to his family, numerous friends, and his St. George’s Episcopal Church community where he served on The Vestry and as a member of the Christian Leadership Concepts (CLC) men’s group. His daughters were the lights of his life and he was always quick to support each of them – whether it was fixing “the perfect ponytail” in their hair, serving as their little league softball coach, helping with math homework, attending a graduation, or giving advice on how to cook the best BBQ chicken. He was also a loving husband to Cindy, his wife of 21 years, and happily told nearly everyone he encountered how special & lucky he felt to have found her. Mike was a constant source of love, laughter, support & encouragement to all who knew him. He was also passionately dedicated to his business, Apollo Trading Company. He founded Apollo in 2009, the same year he was diagnosed with cancer, and continued to work each day out of love and dedication to his job until the end of his life. Mike wasanattendant of Mangham (LA) High School where he lettered in football, basketball, & baseball, and went on to Mississippi College where he played Football & Baseball before graduating from Louisiana Tech University, where he earned his B.S. in Animal Sciences. A visitation will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church atone o'clock in the afternoonon Tuesday, December 17th followed by a Memorial Service at three o'clock.
