

Mildred Simpson Anderson, age 90 passed away on January 1, 2015 in Hermitage, TN. Preceded in death by parents Everett C. Simpson and Betty Lou Bowden Simpson; sister, Josephine McGowan and brother, William Simpson. Survived by daughter, Norma Anderson (Steve) Chadwell son, Jack Dallas (Revonda) Anderson and sister, Eloise Stephens; two grandchildren, Christy Chadwell (JR) Mullens and Stephanie Chadwell; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie Mullens and Hailey Mullens. Mildred was an active member in the Baptist church and Sunday school teacher until eight years ago when she got Alzheimer.
She was a very good stay-at-home mother, wife, and grandmother. She was a cub scout leader, constantly took food to people, and helped them through rough times. She had her children in service projects from the time they were little. She constantly lived to serve others whether it was church, PTA, substituting at school, visiting shut-ins or volunteering for the Red Cross.
When her children got older she worked part-time, then full time as an insurance underwriter. After retiring they kept calling her back to train people.
She remained kind to others and appreciative to the end. She left a strong message to love God and serve others.
Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday, January 5, 2015 at one o’clock in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday from four o’clock until seven o’clock at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
