

She was born December 20, 1922, in DeKalb County, Tennessee, to Joseph Oscar and Louvilla Frazier Puckett. On January 2, 1942, she married Thomas Houston Driver. To this union was born James Houston Driver and Glenda Merle Driver.
In addition to her parents, Merle was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Houston Driver; son, James Houston Driver; sisters, Ailene Ervin, Dessie Burnett, Eva Lois Durham, Emma Tittsworth, and Hester Tittsworth; brothers, James Oscar Puckett, John Henry Puckett and George Lee Puckett, and husband, Paul Dorsey.
Merle’s survivors include daughter, Glenda (Max) King; daughter-in-law, Darlene Driver; step-children, Pete Dorsey, Debbie (Terry) Dorsey-Smith, and Ginger (Mike) Henrichs; grandchildren, Deanna (Scott) Jennings, Jimmy (Tracey) Driver, Brandee (Jeremy) Seaborn and Dawn (John) Swiney; great grandchildren, Reagan Faith Jennings, David (Melanie) Jennings, Sonia (Brian) Boss, J.T. Driver, Joshua Driver and Dawson Swiney; step-granchildren, Alexandra Dorsey, Griffin, Mercedes and Miranda Smith, Christina, Karen, Laura, Katie, Eric, Julia, Heidi and Mark Henrichs; one great-great granddaughter, Sophia Jennings; two brothers, Gene Puckett and T.J. Puckett, and one sister, Retha Farley.
Merle leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends, and loving memories of all that knew her.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from two o’clock until six o’clock in the evening at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at six o’clock in the evening at the funeral home with Brother Jack Stone officiating.
Merle will be laid to rest at Whorton Springs Cemetery in Smithville, Tennessee, on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at ten o’clock in the morning beside her dear husband, Houston.
