

Pandora Denny, 74, of Nashville, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020. She was born on April 7, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Charles Peter Bortniak and Clara Brighten Bortniak. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Peter Bortniak, and her grandmother, “Lil Mom”, as well as her husband, John E. Denny of Nashville. She is survived by her half-brother, Joe Bortniak of Phoenix, Arizona, and her daughter, Carla Maupin of San Francisco, California.
Pandora’s father was born in Russia, and was fluent in Russian, German and English. He was in the Army Air Corp, serving as an advance spotter for the US bombers during WWII. He had many duty stations, and so Pandora lived in many places in the United States, and also in Newfoundland.
She worked for American Airlines, and she enjoyed playing golf. She was also an administrative assistant in her husband, John’s, music publishing business, Denny Music.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020, at Historic Mount Olivet Cemetery. Reverend Adam Jones will officiate.
The family would like to thank the staff at Nashville Rehabilitation and Healing, along with Kindred Hospice, for their loving care of Pandora.
