Scott is preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Bateman. He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Owens Bateman; step son, Alfred Lester III; mother, Patti Pruett Bateman; father, Thomas E. Bateman; stepmother, Barbara Shannon Bateman; brothers, Christopher Bateman, Paul Bateman (Karen) and Rhett Bateman; sister-in-law, Susie Bateman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He attended Father Ryan High School and Middle Tennessee State University. Scott was an outstanding football and wrestling athlete.
Scott was a very loving husband, son, brother and friend. He cared deeply for his family and would do anything for anyone. His land, dogs and fishing in his lake gave him much pleasure.
A visitation will be held at Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 25th from 10:00-2:00 and 4:00-8:00.
