Peter John Hopkins, of Nashville, TN, passed away Friday July 1, 2016. Survived by his wife of 61 years Nelly, his sons Father Peter, Father Edward, Father John and Dr. Stephen and daughter Sister Catherine Marie. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1925, he grew up in Syracuse, NY and Denver, CO. He served in WWII in the combat infantry and was wounded during the Normandy and Brittany campaigns, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He attended Syracuse University and Boston College Law School. He was admitted to the New York State Bar Association and practiced law for more than 50 years in Cazenovia and Chittenango, New York. He was a co-founder of the New York State Conservative Party in the early 1960s. A man of integrity, he was deeply committed to his Catholic faith and his family. In 2006, they relocated to Nashville, TN. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., followed by funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
