Born on June 27, 1936, in O'Fallon, Illinois, Ray was the son of the late Walter B. Hageman and Beulah E. Hageman. He proudly served his country with an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and warm spirit.
Ray married Beatrice (Bea) Hageman on November 5, 1994, in Hermitage, Tennessee, and together they shared 30 years of love and devotion. Ray was a proud father to his sons Robert (Rebecca) of Kentucky and Ryan (Glenda) of Arkansas. He also leaves behind two stepchildren, Charlene (Phillip) Watson and Brian (Courtney) Urbahns, both of Tennessee, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought joy to his life.
Ray retired from Metro Ready Mix Concrete, where he worked in quality control, and he found immense pleasure in fishing with his sons and reading. He was an active member of Lifehouse Fellowship Church and found comfort in his faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister, Ray’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on through his family and friends.
A graveside service to honor Ray’s life will be held on February 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN.
Ray’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
