

Rebecca Sue Trotter, age 97, of Brentwood, Tennessee, passed away on October 19, 2024. Born on October 26, 1927, in Lobelville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lois Baker. Rebecca attended Lobelville High School.
On October 11, 1952, she married the love of her life, Tinsley Drake Trotter, in Nashville, Tennessee. Together, they shared a beautiful life until his passing after 58 years of marriage. Rebecca devoted her career to the Methodist Publishing House before embracing her role as a loving homemaker.
A longtime member of Brentwood United Methodist Church, Rebecca’s faith guided her life. She was known for her exceptional country cooking and her generous spirit, always ready to care for sick family members and friends. She found joy in tending to her garden, canning fruits and vegetables, and creating delicious preserves and jellies from their fruit trees, famously crafting the best tomato juice around.
Rebecca had a creative side, enjoying needlepoint, cross-stitching, and quilting, which she shared with her family and friends. She was also an active participant in local elections, embodying her commitment to community engagement.
In addition to her beloved husband, Rebecca was preceded in death by her sisters, Majoria Warren (James) of Charleston, South Carolina, and Ernestine Baker of Lobelville, Tennessee.
She is survived by her daughters, Tinsla Trotter and Tracie (Mark) Talmadge; her grandchildren, Garrett (Savannah) Talmadge and Zachary Talmadge; cousin, Joe Leeper of Jacksonville, Florida; lifelong friend, Dot Randall Weatherford; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Rebecca Sue Trotter will be remembered for her boundless love, warmth, and devotion to family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a life well-lived.
A gathering of family and friends for Rebecca will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A celebration of life service will occur Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 1:00pm with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
