Regene Mitchell

Vallie Regene Cothren Mitchell age 78, passed away Saturday, May 7th, 2016. On April seventeenth 1938 a baby girl was born to Huey & Louise Cothren of Nashville, TN named Vallie Regene Cothren. Upon her mother’s death, two year old Regene was taken to her aunt, Pattie West in Ethridege, TN. There she lived with four girls and one boy cousin who became her extended family. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Robert Mitchell, infant son, Jeff Mitchell, granddaughter, Sonja Thompson. Regene is survived by daughter, Teresa Thompson, son, Timothy (Barbie) Mitchell, granddaughter, Rhiannon Mitchell and close friend James Bilbrey. The family will receive friends at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home Tuesday, May 10, 2016 4pm until 8pm. Wednesday 10 am till 11 am. with a service of dedication following at 11am with Rev Susan A. Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Old Ethridge Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. Family & friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Hickory Bend United Methodist Church, where Regene was a faithful member and served as Communion Steward for several years.
