Born on April 17, 1965, in Nashville, Robert was the son of James and Mary Ferguson. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and remained a proud resident of his hometown throughout his life.
On April 23, 1994, Robert married Sandra Elizabeth Hamley, with whom he shared many meaningful years. He worked as a dedicated hardware salesman at H.G. Lipscomb for three decades, where he built lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike.
Robert had a deep passion for collecting antiques, particularly knives, and was an active member of several online collecting communities. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast, owning and riding many bikes over the years. A devoted fan of rock and roll, his favorite band was The Who. Robert found peace and joy in nature, especially while camping and fishing—two of his favorite pastimes.
Known for his selfless nature and generous heart, Robert was the kind of man who never turned away someone in need. He will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, and quiet strength.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Sandra; his son, Robert Jr.; his sister, Gale; and his brothers, Michael, Steven, and Thomas.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at Woodmont Hills Church at 3:00pm on June 28, 2025. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather and honor his memory.
Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
