Mr. Robert Eugene Hunley, age 81, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on March 8, 2016, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Mr. Hunley was born on August 10, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of the late Edward Lee Hunley Sr. and Annie Lee Payne Hunley. He proudly served our country and was 30 years retired from the United States Navy. He was a very loving and caring father, brother and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunley was preceded in death by four children, Sheila Hudspeth, Sammy Hollis, Sherry Slaughter and Scott Hollis; one sister, Norma Nichols, and two brothers, Sonny Hunley and Edward Lee Hunley. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Baugh Hunley; two children, Michelle Hollis and Sterlin Hollis; two sisters, Myrtle Waller and Patricia Burton; two brothers, Jerry Hunley and Charles David Hunley; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
