Robert Coffiel Nichols, Jr., age 90 passed away on December 9, 2016. He was born on August 13, 1926 in Athens, Alabama. The son of the late Robert C. Nichols, Sr. and Elizabeth Nelson Nichols. Robert graduated from Athens High, attended Marion Military Institute, served in the U.S. Navy and attended Athens College. He came to Nashville in 1950 and began working with his father in the National Paint business until retirement in 1989. He was past President and Life Member of the Nashville Sertoma Club and a longtime member of Woodmont Christian Church. He was predeceased by son, Brad Crockett Nichols. Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years Patsy Knight Nichols and daughter, Janet Nelson Nichols. Visitation will take place at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from one o’ clock in the afternoon until two-thirty with Funeral Service to follow in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. In lieu flowers memorial contribution may be made to Woodmont Christian Church or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend gratitude to the many caregivers and Guardian Hospice who have attended to him over the past years.
