

Robert Louis Sulligan age 85, of Nashville, TN passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Bob was born to the late Peter George Sr. Sulligan and Anna (Dulovits) Sulligan on March 29, 1938 in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Bob was served in the United State Air Force for 24 years where he retired as a Master Sargent, he served in Vietnam, Korea, Japan and various Air Force bases around the world. Bob and Loretta (Janey) spent time in Texas, then relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. Bob started working the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked 18 years. In those 18 years he served as their 1st Ambassador, coached softball, and was known to many as “MIDNIGHT BOB.” He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a past member of the Adult Choir at St. Edwards and Holy Rosary, a member and advisor of the Saddle Tramps – Texas Tech University. He was a member of the Fifty and Nifty group. He also played Semi-pro baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals in the early 1960’s.
Bob never met a stranger; he was loved by many and he loved with his whole heart. He cherished his wife of 63, his children and had a blast with his grand and great-grandchildren. There was never a dull moment with him around.
Bob was survived by his wife of 63 years, Loretta (Janey) Kemp Sulligan; sons, Robert D. (Suzannah) Sulligan of, Smyrna, and Will Sulligan of Nashville; grandchildren, Brandi Sulligan of Seattle, Washington, Angela Sulligan of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Kevin Sulligan of Nashville, and Cory (Savanna) Sulligan of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren, Keylee Rayne Brock of Cleveland, TN, Aaron Michael Seagraves of Smyrna, TN, Aria Rose Seagraves of Smyrna, TN, Hunter Crabtree of Murfreesboro, TN, Lyra Melody Sulligan who is set to arrive on May 24, 2023; special sister and Brother-in-law, Susan and Tim Shaffer of Lebanon, TN; niece, Mary Kemp of Chattanooga, TN; brother Joe Sulligan of New Brunswick, NJ, along with multiple family and friends around the world.

A gathering of family & friends for Robert will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with Pastor Derek Purser officiating, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A graveside service will occur Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
