

Ruby Eleanor Young passed away peacefully on November 23, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born on January 2, 1922 in Milton, TN to the late parents Bernice and Grover Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Young. She was a lifelong resident in the Woodbine area of Nashville and member of Wingate Church of Christ. She was a nurse, homemaker, seamstress and hairdresser in a small beauty shop in her home. Survivors include daughters, Glenda Cohn and Deborah Young (Mike Rakes) and son, Bill Young (Wanda Neal Hooper), all of Nashville, TN.; four grandchildren, Rob Cohn (Nichole) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lisa White, of Williamstown, MA, Benjamin Young (Megan Themm), of Nashville and Alexander Young, of Santa Cruz, CA; and five great-grandchildren, Sebastian White, Alistair White, Brody Cohn, Brennan Cohn and Burton Young, of Nashville. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 26, 2017, from two o’clock to eight o’clock in the evening at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at two-thirty in the afternoon with visitation thirty minutes prior at Woodlawn with Wendell Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Rob Cohn, Benjamin Young, Alexander Young, Scott Moore, Mike Rakes and Donnie Binkley serving as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice and Wingate Church of Christ.
