

Samuel Julian Pride, 98, of Nashville, TN, passed away on February 5, 2025. Born on June 1, 1926, in Nashville, he was the son of Mila Shoemake and Ory Pride. Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Ann, and his brothers, Giles and Carl, as well as his bonus-son, Kenneth.
In 1998, Sam married his loving wife, Hanna Pride, on February 14 in Nashville, TN. Together, they shared a life filled with love, faith, and laughter. Sam worked as a dedicated salesman at 3M, where he retired after many years of service. He was known for his kind heart, unwavering faith, and sense of humor. Sam was a compassionate, loving, and gracious man who never met a stranger. His ability to connect with people and share stories made him beloved by all who knew him.
Sam was an active member of his church choir and found joy in singing, fishing, exercising, and traveling. He cherished spending time with his family watching his great grandchildren play. Being a grandpa was very important to Sam. He took great joy in his grandchildren, always making time for them, sharing his wisdom, and creating lasting memories. He loved being a part of their lives and found immense pride in watching them grow. He also, took great joy in hearing and telling stories, a pastime that brought his family close together.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hannelore Pride; his daughter, Julie Brown (Carl); son, Joe Pride; bonus-daughter, Tammy Carpenter; nephews, Nick (Jeff) and Rick; grandchildren, Jonathan (Rogean), Morgan (Ashley), Jessica (Daniel), Heidi (Jacob), Katie (Joe), Ashley (Nahshon); and great-grandchildren, Elliot, Rene, Lowell, Harper, Bella, Zion, Cade, Kenleigh, Hannalee, and Everett.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on February 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place on February 7, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, with the service at 1:30 PM, officiated by Rev. John Williams.
Serving as pallbearers are Johnathan R. Smith, Marc Carpenter, Joe Pinhal, Daniel Breining, Morgan Criswell, Elliot Criswell, Nahshon Arnwine, and Jacob Strickland.
Sam's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him. He was an extraordinary, accomplished man who taught his family the true meaning of love and compassion.
