

TUCHMAN, Sam H. - Age 92, of Nashville, TN, died Thursday, May 30, 2013. Sam was born to the late Rubin and Lena Tuchman, July 11, 1920, in Kosova, Poland, and immigrated to the United States in 1926. He graduated from Seward Park High School in New York City and served in France in World War II as a pharmaceutical technician. He married the late Dina Grinblatt in 1952 and raised a family in Brooklyn, NY. Sam was an insurance salesman until he retired in 1985, when he and Dina moved to Coconut Creek, Florida. In 2002, he relocated to Nashville, TN to be near one of his daughters and his grandson. He spent the last years of his life at Park Manor Senior Lifestyle Community, where he was extremely happy and content. Sam had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved animals, dancing, cars, laughing, playing cards, reading, sports, and singing. He spent many years of his life singing in synagogue on the Jewish High Holy Days, letting his beautiful falsetto voice soar. Sam is survived by two children, Arleen Tuchman (David Zolensky) of Nashville, TN and Shendl Tuchman of Oakland, CA; one grandson, Andrew Zolensky of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Ann Gershfeld and Florence Gevins of Coconut Creek, FL; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the American Diabetes Association.
