Sheila passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, in Nashville, Tennessee, after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer. She was content, surrounded by love, and true to herself until the very end.
Sheila’s love of family began early, growing up in a close-knit household rooted in the dairy milk business. A hairdresser by trade, Sheila maintained her professional status well into later life, though her true calling was always family. Her family tree continued to grow, as nearly everyone she met soon came to regard Sheila as “family.”
Sheila was not one to collect possessions, but upon reflection, she collected something far greater: lifelong friends and unforgettable memories wherever her life’s travels took her. Through that lens, she was a passionate, vigorous, and remarkably successful collector.
St. Marys, Ontario, was her official home, but Sheila took great pride in making a home wherever life and family careers led. She had a rare gift for making people feel welcome, comfortable, and truly at home, no matter the place.
“Terry and Sheila” were a partnership marked by strength, devotion, and shared success across many arenas, including hockey. Though Sheila’s name was never engraved on the trophies, together they achieved remarkable accomplishments, including three Stanley Cups. Terry and Sheila were, without question, a powerful and dynamic duo.
True to form, Sheila’s final words were gently whispered with the same determination, love, and passion with which she lived her life: “You’re my partner.”
Sheila is lovingly survived by her children: Tony Crisp and his wife Jenny, and their children Maggie, Trent, Kyle, Rosie, and Harlee; son Jeff Crisp and his wife Trish, and their children Tommy and Kale; daughter Caley (Crisp) Remington and her husband Ryan, and their children Georgia, Charlotte, and River. She is also survived by her sisters Donna Aldis and Linda McKay; her brothers-in-law Randy Crisp and his wife Karen, and Dennis Crisp and his wife Marsha; and her sisters-in-law Myrt Hearn and Gail Clark. Sheila is also fondly remembered by all her beloved nieces and nephews.
Sheila was predeceased by her Parents: Eileen and Rolston “Kelly” Hearn, Her brother Barry Hearn and sister Shirley Mae Boyd, brothers-in-law, Jim “Dusty” Aldis, Jack Boyd, Clare Clark, her mother and father-in-law Margaret and Nesbeth “Nibs” Crisp.
Sheila Helen Crisp will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, loyalty, strength, and unwavering love for those fortunate enough to be part of her world.
