Stella was born on July 18th, 1940, in Covington, TN to parents Reuben and Juanita Smith as one of 8 siblings. She attended the TN School for the Deaf in Knoxville, TN where she graduated with high honors before moving to Nashville and proudly raising her two sons. Ms. Smith was a long-time member of Hermitage Church of Christ and was a strong woman of faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Her infectious giggle lit up any room she entered. She enjoyed puzzles, crafting, frogs and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Stella is survived by her sons Tommy Morris and Bobby Morris; grandchildren Alaina Morris and Matthew Morris; brother Daryl Smith; sisters Sara Whitehead, Betty Shackelford, Patricia Roney, and Sherry Smith.
Services will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on January 18th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contribution be made to Bridges For The Deaf and Hard of Hearing in honor of Stella A. Smith.
