

This world lost a special treasure this week as Sue Farrar Aydelotte Harris peacefully went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, October 4, after more than 98 years here on earth. Sue was born April 12, 1918, in Columbia, Tennessee, to Frank and Mary Louise McKee Aydelotte and lived most of her life in Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked for the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Cecil O. Harris, Sue is survived by her “three boys” -- Cecil O’Bryan Harris (Carolyn Sue Harris) of Lebanon, Tennessee; Frank Martin Harris (Teresa Ashworth Harris) of Franklin, Tennessee; and Warren Dale Harris (Frances Harris) of Mobile, Alabama; two brothers -- Gene Aydelotte of Columbia, Tennessee, and J.A. Aydelotte of Plant City, Florida; and four grandchildren -- Tamara Rooney (Douglas) of Olathe, Kansas; James Harris (Angela) of Kansas City, Missouri; Karen Blevins (David) of Hermitage, Tennessee; and Grace Anne Engel of Charlotte, North Carolina. Sue also had seven great-grandchildren: Braden and Blake Rooney, Taylor O’Bryan Harris, Lyndie and Austin Blevins, and Nick and Alex Engel, and two great-great-grandsons, Dominic and Elliott Engel. Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. in Woodlawn’s chapel officiated by Rev. Ernest Standerfer, minister of Senior Adults from Judson Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sue’s memory to “The Judson Jewels” of Judson Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee.. The family expresses gratitude and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Belvedere Commons Assisted Living, Avalon Hospice of Franklin and Assisted Family Care of Smyrna for their true loving care and compassion.
