

Teresa Renee Gibbs-Story, age 60, of Nashville, TN, passed away on January 21, 2025. She was born on May 10, 1964, in Nashville, TN, to Autry Faye Gibbs and Norma Kay Jordan-Davis. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left a lasting impression on everyone she met with her fiery spirit and deep love for her family.
Teresa was a proud graduate of Cheatham County High School and spent much of her life working in communications and dispatch. She married the love of her life, Ricky Steven Story, in Gatlinburg, TN, on July 13, 2005. Together, they shared many adventures, and Teresa’s love for life, her family, and her friends was evident to all who knew her.
A free spirit at heart, Teresa was known for her feisty personality, her love for animals, and her devotion to her family. She loved to shop, eat, dance, cook, and spend time at the beach, always seeking out fun and relaxation. Teresa had a special way of making everyone feel cherished, and she especially enjoyed being surrounded by those she loved, including her sisters, children, grandchildren, and her best friend, Ramona Diaz-Pentecost.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Steven Story; children, Dwayne Brown (Amanda Zastrow), Skylar Smith, Seagie Smith, and Hannah Story (grandchildren Beckham and Ava Carter); grandchildren Justice Zastrow, Trinity Brown, and Eli Smith; sister Kimberly Gibbs (Guy Phillips) and nephew Zachary Gray (Kayla and Isabella Underwood); brother Autry Faye Gibbs Jr. (Liam Gibbs); brother James Lee Slicer (Linda Slicer); aunt Ann (Natalie Taylor); and many other cherished family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Kay Jordan-Davis; her father, Autry Faye Gibbs; and her sisters, Lisa Kay Gibbs and Michelle Lea Gibbs.
A gathering of family and friends for Teresa will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a celebration of life from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
Teresa’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her life was a testament to living fully, laughing often, and loving deeply. Teresa leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and the importance of cherishing family.
