Vahab Aliabadihagh

Today, we have gathered to honor the memory of one of the lovers of books, literature, and Iranian culture, and an entrepreneur: Vahab Aliabadi Hagh, son of the late Mastoureh and Reza Khan.

Vahab Aliabadi was born on September 21, 1931, in the city of Tabriz, Iran. His professional life began in 1947 with employment at the Ministry of Transportation. After many years of service, he retired in 1973.

That same year, by founding the import-export company "MSM" in Tehran, he took an important step into the world of business and demonstrated that perseverance and a desire for new experiences can illuminate one's path in life.

After immigrating to the United States in 1980, Vahab Aliabadi Hagh began a new chapter. By establishing the rug business "Centennial Oriental Rug" in Nashville, Tennessee, he showed that love and expertise can lead to success in any field. He also founded MSM in Smyrna, Tennessee, where a variety of products were manufactured: rug pads, shelf liners, yoga mats, shower mats, and grocery case liners, all nonslip products that were both practical and popular.

Vahab Aliabadi Hagh was not only a hardworking and tireless businessman, but his deep love for books and knowledge made him a devoted patron of literature.

Bijan Khalili, manager of Ketab Corp., says that he was not only an avid reader himself, but often paid for books for those who could not afford them.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Parvin Shahgoli; his son, Reza; his two grandchildren, Niloofar and Shayan; and his great-grandchild, Kian.

His memory reminds us not only of perseverance and dedication, but also symbolizes love for culture, knowledge, and family.

In honor of his rich life and tireless efforts, we stand today to cherish his memory.

May his soul rest in peace and his memory live on forever.

A Graveside Service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery - Main, 1428 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN 37210, US, on March 7, 2026, at 10:30 am. Family is asking that everyone arrive no later than 10:00am at the cemetery so that the service starts on time.
