Vaughn Ray Cunningham

Vaughn Ray Cunningham, age 91, born on October 19, 1929 in Waverly, Tennessee to Alice Dee Tibbs Cunningham and Leslie Ray Cunningham. He passed away on December 1, 2020. He is preceded in death by his son, Steve Cunningham; grandson, Darrell Clark; his children’s mother, Ethel Cunningham Clement; partner, Eva Risher; brothers, George Cunningham and Herman Cunningham; and sisters, Jewel Davidson and Margaret Hagewood.

Mr. Cunningham is survived by his daughters, Sheryl Carney (Jerry), Jan Gates, and Cathy Clark; son, Randy Cunningham; grandchildren, Marty Carney (Shelly), Jeanna Newton (Daniel), Jason Carney (Lindsey), Kevin Mangrum, Keith Mangrum (Tracy), and Amanda DeWeese (Marc); great-grandchildren, Will Garner, Wyatt Garner, Robert Newton, Loretta Newton, Hudson Carney, Hollynn Carney, Heath Carney, Harrison Carney, Hailey Mangrum, Connor Davis, Adelynn Mangrum, Destiny DeWeese, Jaylee DeWeese, and Kennedy Clark; brother, Bobby Cunningham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cunningham could always be seen with a huge smile. He was friendly, easy to please, and always a jokester. Mr. Cunningham enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors; especially hunting, fishing, boating, and gardening. He enjoyed playing bingo and would give away his trinkets to grandchildren or kids visiting the facility. He also loved playing checkers and was very good at it.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on December 4, 2020 from eleven o’clock until noon at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place immediately following the gathering in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
