Vidajane "Janey" Carswell Haynes

VidaJane Carswell Haynes, age 66, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022. VidaJane was born March 20, 1956 in Wurzsburg, Germany to the late Bobby Carswell and Helga Sauerbier Carswell.

Janey is survived by her husband, Bill Haynes of Nashville; children, Jessica, Michael and Mandi; grandchildren, Brenna, Kaylin and Penny and sister, Linda.

Janey spent her early years growing up in Germany. Her father was in the military which allowed her to travel between countries before settling in Valley Station, Kentucky, where she attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. After high school, she graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors in Education. Janey began her early teaching years in Gallatin, where she taught at Gallatin High School. In 1986, she began teaching at McGavock High School that spanned over 30 years. She taught English, French, German and Russian to many students during her tenure. Janey loved her family and enjoyed quality time with her beloved grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from four until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home with Interment to follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
