Mrs. Viola Ruth Austin age 92, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Mrs. Austin was born in Sparta, TN, on May 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Waymon Douglas Thurman and Prissey Lee Tayler Thurman.
She retired as a beautician after many years of service. Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husband, Ammon Austin. Survivors include her son, Douglas Austin; two grandsons, Douglas Evan Austin and Eric Curtis Austin; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside and interment services will be held Monday, February 13, 2017, at one o’clock, Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday from eleven o’clock until the funeral hour at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
